The Wolfgang Puck Bread Maker is one of the newest bread machines on Amazon right now.
It stands out as having some pretty heavy-hitting features with downsides that are worth ignoring, considering its low price.
With this machine, you won’t have to spend all that time getting the ingredients to behave. When you follow the recipe, you’ll be guaranteed quality loaves every single bake. More experienced bakers will enjoy the possibilities of creating their own recipes too.
This is an affordable, mid market machine. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of more premium brands, but it’s reliable and gets the job done.
If you’re not sure about picking up this bread maker, don’t worry. We’ve outlined all the best features and potential drawbacks so you can make an educated decision.

Wolfgang Puck Bread Machine: Features
Set it and Forget it!
There are few machines that make creating delicious loaves quite as easy as this one does.
Gather your ingredients, pour them all into the baking tray, use the LCD display to program the type of bread you want, and you’re done! This machine will take care of the mixing, kneading, and rising all on its own.
12 Bake Settings – Endless Customization
This feature gives you the freedom to make many different kinds of bread, and allows you to customize the settings to fit your personal preferences. The settings include:
- Basic
- French
- Whole Wheat
- Quick
- Sweet
- Gluten Free
- Rapid Bake
- Dough
- Jam
- Cake
- Sandwich
- Bake
With the Wolfgang Puck Bread Maker, you can make so many different kinds of breads and treats for your family.
If a friend has a birthday coming up, all you have to do is toss in the ingredients for a delicious pound cake, set it to bake, and once it’s finished, just wrap it up and drop it off. It is definitely a versatile machine.
13-Hour Delay Timer
In this day and age, we all have busy lives. Hell; that’s why we use a bread maker, right?
The delay timer makes it easy to bake according your busy schedule, rather than having to set aside extra time to make your favorite breads.
Just be sure to pay close attention the first time you set it, since the small LCD screen can take some time to get used to.
Gluten Free Setting
This machine even takes the difficulty out of making tasty gluten free breads.
The gluten free setting goes through a slightly different baking process, but what comes out is just as delicious.
It’s fantastic that such a low-priced bread maker has a gluten free setting — this is usually reserved for the more expensive machines.
Automatic Fruit and Nut Dispenser
Another feature that’s surprising to spot on a mid-market machine like the Wolfgang Puck bread maker, is an automatic fruit and nut dispenser.
One you add your mix-ins into the dispenser, the machine will automatically add your ingredients into the dough at a preset time. This is much more convenient than having the bread maker simply beep at you when the time is ready for you to add the mix-ins manually.
You can add in all sorts of ingredients: dried cranberries, nuts, seeds, chocolate chips, candy, or sun-dried tomatoes, for instance.
We added some raisins to a cinnamon loaf to test this out and the result was fantastic!
3 Crust Color Settings
You can select from 3 different crust types: Light, Medium and Dark.
Crust purists will love this function!
Loaf Size
The Wolfgang Puck automatic bread maker has a maximum capacity of 2 lbs, with the option to choose between a 1.5 and 2 lb loaf.
While not quite as big as the whopping 2.5 lb loaves some premium machines offer, we like the fact that you can choose between a small and medium sized loaf — great for both families and smaller households.
Viewing Window
Being able to watch your bread as it bakes is always a bit of fun. The Wolfgang Puck bread machine provides a medium-sized viewing window (that we wish was a little bigger!).
Keep Warm Function
If you aren’t able to pull your bread out of the machine right when it finishes baking, the keep-warm function has you covered.
It will keep your bread hot for up to an hour. This is great if you’re delayed at work or stuck in traffic and want to come home to a nicely warmed fresh loaf.
Easy-to-Clean Baking Tray
The baking tray has a non-stick interior so it makes cleaning the unit and removing the bread super simple.
Recipes Included
If the idea of baking a pound cake in your bread maker seems intimidating, don’t worry. The creators of the Wolfgang Puck bread maker have you in mind.
While getting the right balance with new recipes takes some trial and error, the manual provides several bread recipes along with recipes for cakes, pizza dough, and jams that’ll be great on the first go. Once you have them mastered, you can customize these recipes to make your own favorites in the future.
Wolfgang Puck Bread Maker Review
The Wolfgang Puck Bread Maker may be the right choice for you, but the devil is always in the details. Let’s take a more in-depth look at what makes this bread maker great and where it lacks.
The Positives
Great Bread Every Time
Because this bread maker is so easy to use, it is nearly impossible to make a bad loaf if you follow the recommended recipes. Seriously: even the most fervent ‘can’t cook, won’t cook’ baker should get along with the Wolfgang Puck!
The mixing blade ensures all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, while kneading and rising are also taken care of.
Heat is evenly distributed throughout the bread maker, ensuring an even bake and no chance of opening the door to a brick-life loaf.
We’ve found that it delivers not just on the bread front: pizza doughs and cakes are also super simple. We’re yet to test out a jam recipe, but have heard only good things about it from our fellow bakers.
Gluten Free Baking Made Simple
Gluten free bread is often thought of as tasteless or not quite as satisfying as its gluten filled counterparts. Baking without gluten can be a challenge, but the Wolfgang Puck bread maker takes the guess work out of it and makes it quite easy.
Once you’ve got a handle on basic gluten free recipes, you can experiment by adding things to your gluten free bread via the fruit and nut dispenser. Flavor + variety = a happy gluten free family!
As we mentioned earlier, having a gluten free function on this low-priced machine is a real benefit and something usually seen in more premium product lines.
We love that Wolfgang Puck is helping to make gluten free breads more accessible.
Good for Daily Use
There are many mixers and bread makers on the market that are complicated in both their baking process and clean up.
Since the Wolfgang Puck bread machine makes both of these steps quite easy, you will be able to use this bread maker daily without any problems.
This means you can also make treats for friends and family without all the hassle.
Considering just how easy it is to use and clean this machine, it’s perfectly positioned to use daily as a way to provide healthy and yummy breads for your family.
Not Really a Baker? Not a Problem
While we’re not sure that the Wolfgang Puck automatic bread maker has the breadth of features and customization options to really capture the hearts of experienced and experimental bread bakers, there’s no doubt that it’s perfect for people looking for a reliable machine.
The process of bread making is easy with straight forward settings and easy to understand buttons. It’s hard to go wrong with this machine if you follow the recipes!
Beginner bakers or simply people who don’t have the time or inclination to devote to elaborate bakes will love this machine.
It’s Small and Lightweight
We love a bread machine that we can keep out on our kitchen counter, and the Wolfgang Puck is definitely that.
At only 12 lbs, it’s easy to move around the kitchen and its compact dimensions mean its slender frame doesn’t take up too much room.
The Negatives
Small LCD Display
For such a large machine, the LCD screen is a bit small.
It can be a little challenging to read at times, which can add difficulty when you are attempting to get the settings right for your bake. Remember to wear your glasses when you’re using the Wolfgang Puck!
Not Enough Features for Experimenting
While you are able to create your own recipes with the Wolfgang Puck bread machine, you simply don’t have the same customization options that are offered by the more premium brands.
This isn’t really a criticism of this bread maker: we wouldn’t expect any different at this price point.
The Manual Could Be More Thorough
Some features/functionality of the machine could have been better covered in the use and care manual.
For example: To remove the bread pan from the machine, you must twist it counter clockwise. It would be nice if these instructions were both very clear and very obvious in the manual.
The manual also does not provide information about baking times, which would be helpful.
The Kneading Blade
Most of the time we were able to remove the bread from the non-stick baking pan with no issue, but there were times when it took a bit of work to cleanly remove the kneading blade.
The blade leaves a small indent at the bottom of the bread. This doesn’t affect the taste or overall appearance of the bread, but it might bother some bakers.
Not a Great Design
While the Wolfgang Puck bread maker isn’t exactly ugly, it’s not going to win any design awards either.
Tall and white with a black menu pad and small LCD screen, it looks like every other mid-market bread machine out there.
A little uninspiring, in our opinion.
Overall Verdict
We recommend the Wolfgang Puck bread machine.
It’s a great fit for a family that needs a reliable machine that will deliver delicious loaves every single time. There’s no frills here: it simply gets the job done.
The price is low and reasonable, and the durability of the machine should ensure it stays on your kitchen counter top for a long while.
One of its major plus points is the gluten free setting that families with food allergies will love.

Fantastic machine ordered several years ago. Has held up and does make wonderful, tasty, crusty loaves. In my research for additional recipes, I learned about all of the different settings that I wasn’t utilizing (simply because I was a rookie!) Now my world has expanded and this machine can do it all. It also has the exceptional “dough” setting. Enabling you to remove the unbaked dough to shape into your fancy European rustic breads, finish by baking in your stove. Great for making and freezing pizza dough too. Uses bread machine yeast. So stollens anyone?
