Here are some of the most notable:
15 Programmed Settings
First off, there are a huge number of baking programs to choose from:
- White
- Rapid white
- Whole wheat
- Rapid whole wheat
- French
- Rapid French
- Sweet
- Rapid sweet
- Low carb
- Gluten-free
- Jam
- Dough

- Bake only

These settings, paired with the 300+ pre-installed recipes, allows this machine to make baking — even for a gluten-free diet — easy and accessible.
It’s no wonder it’s such a popular machine.
3 Different Loaf Sizes
The Breadman TR2500BC creates three different sizes of horizontal loaves: the 1 pound, 1.5 pound, and 2 pound loaf.
Great news for families big and small (and singles!)
It’s worth noting that for low carb and gluten-free loaves, this machine is programmed to only bake one size.
Crust Control
This one’s for those of you who crave a darker crust but don’t want to risk burning bread.
Although the crust is automatically set to medium, you can switch to light or dark crust to suit your preferences for most loaves.
Additionally, if the dark crust setting is still not dark enough for your preferences, you can also select the “bake only” option to further cook the bread.
24 Hour Delay Option
The Breadman TR2500BC offers up to 24 hours of delay, meaning a loaf of bread can take an entire day to prepare and bake so as to match your schedule.
All you have to do is add your ingredients and select the 24 hour delay button — also known as your “program” button on any of your previously selected bread types.
Then, leave the machine on to process its kneads, punch, shape, and rises. Finally, after 24 hours, you can retrieve your fully prepared loaf of bread.
This is an impressively long delay: most bread makers we’ve used usually max out at the 13 hour mark.
Fruit, Nuts, and Herbs Dispenser
If you add your fruits, nuts, and herbs too early then they might sink to the bottom of your loaf: too late and they’ll become a topping.
Breadman understands time is of the essence — or in this case, of the rising of yeast — which is why their fruits, nuts, and herbs dispenser exists.
Simply place your “add-ins” in the dish and the Breadman TR2500BC will do the rest. No babysitting required!
Keep Warm Cycle
Unless you’re using the dough, jam, or the quick breads option, once your loaf is done baking, a keep-warm light will illuminate.
This light will start a keep-warm cycle that lasts 60 minutes, so your bread will stay nice and warm in case you can’t retrieve it immediately.
Convection Technology
Another feature that sets apart the Breadman TR2500BC from its competitors is the fact that it’s actually a convection oven.
This ensures an even, consistent and thorough bake — think a soft and fluffy loaf on the inside, paired with a crunchy and chewy crust. DELICIOUS.
7 Minute Power Failure Back-Up
If you experience a power outage during the baking cycle, fear not.
This Breadman Breadmaker has a memory to store your settings and will resume the cycle as soon as the power resumes — providing it’s back on within 7 minutes.
5 Personal Recipes
The Breadman TR2500BC comes with a huge number of recipes, but what if your favorite isn’t listed?
Don’t worry: this machine also has five customizable setting slots for that reason. Simply go to the Personal Recipes file and fill in your preferences, such as yeast types and temperatures.
Once you’re done, save the file, and your machine will remember your recipe so you can keep preparing your favorite types of bread without worrying.
This bread maker also separates your personal recipes from the pre-programmed ones, so you don’t confuse them when baking.
Breadman TR2500BC Breadmaker Review
The Positives
Excellent Loaf Quality
This is the million dollar question, right?
Well, thankfully, we were really impressed by the loaf quality created by the Breadman TR2500BC Ultimate Plus convection bread machine.
Wonderful textures, even bakes and beautiful, consistent coloring to boot. What’s not to like?
This isn’t exactly what we’d call a cheap bread machine, but you’re certainly paying for quality here.

Huge Amount of Choice
Possibly our favorite thing about this convection bread maker is the fact that there is simply so much on offer here.
With 15 bake programs, the world is your oyster when it comes to choosing what you want to serve up that day.
Plus, there’s no need to fiddle around with the function settings to get it right for a gluten free loaf, for instance. Thanks to this machine’s huge number of pre-installed settings, you simply add your ingredients, select your options, and the machine handles the rest.
And if you do want to indulge in a little experimentation, you definitely can with the Breadman TR2500BC: there are 300 recipes included in the user manual.
Cooking the same loaves of bread again and again can be boring — we get that and so does Breadman, which is why this machine comes with over 300 recipes for you to sample and savor.
Are you curious about Caraway rye bread? How about hearty nut bread? Maybe you’re imagining Italian herb bread.
Whatever has sparked your fancy on a whim, the Breadman TR2500BC will likely have a recipe for you. No more curiosity leading to catastrophe because your machine’s incompatible with a new recipe.
Plus there’s space for 5 personal recipes: ideal for more experienced bakers.
Rapid Bakes
The idea of waiting three hours for your loaf to bake may be ideal for some people, but for others, that idea is just that: an idea.
If you want homemade bread but don’t have time to wait for it to bake, Breadman has a solution.
Rapid Bake options on most bread selections allow you to have your bread and eat it too — up to an hour faster than a regular bake. It’s also worth noting that even these rapid bake options let you choose the color of your crust.
Dough/Pizza Dough Setting
What if you want to get creative with the shape of your bread? Well, with the Breadman TR2500BC, there’s no need to knead – thanks to its dough setting, you can add your ingredients and receive readied dough.
As if that wasn’t great enough, this machine also includes a setting specifically for pizza dough. Now you don’t have to devote more time out of your schedule — just get your dough and go.
The Negatives
Variability
This machine supports customization, but unfortunately, it doesn’t regulate these choices among all its options.
So, for all you gluten-free and low carb bread lovers, it won’t allow crust control.
Of course, there’s always the option of using the “Bake Only” button once your loaf is finished, so that you can crisp the crust. However, when it comes to ease of use and saving time, it’s a disadvantage.
No Screen Backlight
This machine uses an electronic screen for its settings menu and timer, but the screen isn’t backlit, which means it’ll be difficult to read in the dark.
That’s not necessarily a problem so much as an inconvenience, if you have poor eyesight or prefer to get the bread going at night while everyone else is sleeping.
It’s still functional regardless of what time you’re using this bread maker, but make sure you have some glasses or a light on.
Overall Verdict
The Breadman TR2500BC 2-Pound Ultimate Plus Convection Breadmaker is a versatile and strong option against the competition.
Sure, the display window’s lighting could use some — well, lighting — and you might have to be a bit creative with customizing gluten-free and low carb breads.
That said, having over 300 recipes ready, personal recipe programming, the rapid bakes, the dough options, and not to mention all the machine’s other useful settings — it’s a very strong choice for an experienced baker, and a good upgrade for a new baker who wants to try out a wider range of breads.
Where to Buy the Breadman TR2500BC Convection Breadmaker
It should be noted that the TR2500BC was recently upgraded with the Breadman BK1050S Professional Bread Maker, but this older model is still super popular (and we would argue, better than the new one).
The best place to find it now is on Amazon.

Breadman TR2500BC Rated
MBAH Verdict
The Breadman TR2500BC is one of the best convection bread makers on the market, delivering high quality loaves with a huge amount of flexibility and creative freedom for the baker.
It’s not perfect — the display screen is way too dark for a modern bread machine — but we can certainly see why it’s such a popular machine across the US.
